This was a remarkable short film showing tonight at Toronto After Dark. Essentially an animated film, it begins with a spread of newspaper clippings and letters, one of which implores you to ‘look closely’. As you begin to ‘look closely’ at a photograph the camera zooms in and out of the photo, sometimes taking you beyond what the eye might normally see, to get the whole story. It’s revolutionary. I strongly recommend getting your hands on this short, and taking stock of the guys who made it, because they are going to be big.
