The Queen and Transrexia

These were the two shortest films of the presentation. The Queen is a one-minute short about a Queen (of something that is not defined) who has gone missing. When I talked to Peter about this one he indicated that Walter Krudop does a fantastic series of one-minute animated shorts and he’s trying to work his way up to longer pieces. Peter thoroughly enjoys his work and wanted to showcase it, in hopes of garnering support for his longer work. I agree. Unfortunately, just as this one was getting going it was over, so I can’t say I ‘enjoyed’ it per se, but I will say it left me wanting more. I’ll definitely see what’s next.

Transrexia is insane. It was described by Peter as feeling like he was watching a beatnick poet talking about his relationship, but then it’s voiced over this throw-back Harryhausen animation. And there you have it. That’s exactly what it is and I can not do better in describing it. Also one minute it’s pretty action packed, the story of falling in love, being in love and breaking up, if you were a dinosaur. Quirky but fun.
