Trailer for Sandy Carolla’s Hunter Prey

in news

For those of you not familiar with Sandy Carolla, get ready to be amazed. Sandy Carolla is the mind behind the incredible Batman Dead End, the fan film to end all fan films. A fan film so good that it made all other fanboys run out, grab their cameras, start shooting and hope for notoriety. Yes, it’s that good. (Video after the jump.) i09 got an exclusive on this newest work last week and if I may say, it looks great.

First, Batman Dead End:

Impressed? Yep. So is everyone else. And how he’s doing a feature. Trailer below:

More on the film from i09 here. You won’t want to miss this one.

One word on Batman Dead End: You’ll see how brilliant that fan film is, but it – unfortunately – was so good that it got him into a lot of trouble. So while brilliant, it’s also kind of a cautionary tale.

There’s a reason why Sandy has never been able to get to play with a big studio budget…and trust me…he’s taken the appropriate meetings all around town…

But I do agree with you that Batman Dead End is very cool. I will have to check this new video out tonight after work.

If you want to find out more about the world of fan films, you might want to check out my daily fan film blog, fancinematoday.com. Also, for what it’s worth, I wrote the first book about the history and future of fan films, Homemade Hollywood, which just came out in bookstores. It includes a sizable chapter about Collora’s fan film adventures, discussing what they did–and didn’t–do for his career, and where he’s gone from there.

Hey Actionman. That’s one mighty cryptic comment! Thanks for sharing though. It seems as though there’s a much larger story behind all this.

Thanks for the links Clive. That’s a great blog you’ve got there. Any thoughts on Reign of Fate in my other post?

I haven’t watched it yet, but posted about it (and had some email conversations with the filmmakers) before it went up; the post on fancinematoday was:
