Bloor: Salvation

Terminator Salvation Display Terminator Salvation Endoskeleton

OMG! OMG! OMG! I missed my bus this morning and had to take “the long way” up the Bloor-Danforth line and I am SO glad I did! I got there and what do I find on the Northbound platform of the subway? A FULL SIZE ENDOSKELETON. Yes. A Terminator. On the subway platform. As part of Warner’s push on for the movie they’re touring with it (right, because they need a larger push for this one. No one will see it if they don’t do stuff like this…. uh-huh…). They were clearly about to do a press conference, for which I could not stay. But I got some awesome pics! It was amazing! It’s head and jaw moved and everything! Soooooo awesome!

There are a couple of roadblocks to me posting my pics during the day today, but I’m working on it! Definitely check back later tonight or tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: Video below!

Summer movie season, right? Every studio vying for your cash. Warner is really good at the promo game. Trust me, no one in Toronto is talking about Wolverine right now. Oh it’s on.

If you have a “Nerd Alarm” please turn it off, or it will be very loud.

Terminators are “Endoskeletons” – “Endo” meaning “inside”. To quote Reese in the original movie “Inside, they are a hyper-alloy combat chassis – very tough. Outside, living human tissue”. “Aliens” has the famous Exoskeleton/forklift – “Exo” being outside.

This ends this Pedant Nerd communique. Please resume your excellent blog.

Note: Post edited to reflect the in-haste nerdy oops I made this morning, as pointed out by my buddy LateAdopter. I would, however, like to point out that when there’s no skin left, it’s all on the outside, even though I was – technically – incorrect.

Dang! When I was there (9:30 am) it was already gone.

PARDON!?!?! They ONLY did this for the press conference? Crazy. Now I AM glad I missed my damn bus. Pics up tonight for those of you who missed it.

No problem Jamie! I’m just so glad that the serendipity of the day allowed me to capture it! Oh how I loves me some Terminator….
