What Did You See This Weekend?

June 1, 2009

in what did you see?

Sadly I only managed to see one movie, which was UP, but that was more than enough. It’s pretty awesome.

You? Good? Bad? Ugly?

I think I only got one new film in this week – Snow Angels. Fantastic performance but pretty challenging drama. Worth seeing though, for sure.

I snuck in 3 – “Up” (Yay!), a rewatch of “Chocolate” (Yay!) and an early Almodovar film called “What Have I Done To Deserve This?” (Whoa…That wasn’t what I expected…). Lined up next is a French suspense thriller called “A Friend Like Harry”, “Murders In The Rue Morgue” (with Jason Robards and Herbert Lom) and another Almodovar (“Live Flesh”).

And yeah, I should probably try to catch “Drag Me To Hell”.

I loved Snow Angels.

We saw Up this weekend — another masterpiece for Pixar. I cried my eyes out.

Amidst making the most of the glorious weather here and Blighty, me and the good lady finally caught up with Crank 2, which is a flick the word ‘madness’ was invented for – in a good way. Also watched The Rocker with Rainn Wilson, which was fun while it lasted but instantly forgettable. Plus we worked our way through the bulk of the second season of 30 Rock.

Aw Actionman….. you DO have a soft underbelly.

That sounds like kind of a packed weekend there Bob. I’ve never seen anything by Almovodar. Should I be running?

Crank 2, you say there Selfstyler…. I’m not sure I would have done that, but hey, I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I think I would probably have to watch Snow Angels in a group….

No Almodovar Trista? OH my. My fave is still the first film I saw of his which was Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Brilliant, wacky and of course, beautiful people.

You know what’s weird? I can’t even say “It’s on the list,” because it’s not. I just haven’t really had that much exposure or interest. Although I figure if Bob is willing to watch it end to end, there’s got to be something there. Maybe I’ll put it on The List?
