This was released last week and I finally got around to seeing it this weekend. This trailer is chock full of awesome. I love what people do with the zombie genre – it’s just so versatile. Shaun of the Dead, Fido, Breathers (not yet a movie, but on its way understand) and now this. Zombies are just so much more versatile. The last time someone tried to do something interesting with vampires it was Guillermo Del Toro in Blade 2 and was, from what I understand, universally hated by everyone but me. Enjoy after the jump.
This seems to be basically the equivalent of a theme park where you kill zombies for points. LOVE IT!
PS: Even though this is awesome, I’m not sure it’s awesome enough to warrant hitting paparazzi and claiming that you thought they were zombies because you were still in character. I thought when that happened it would be some Dawn of the Dead remake or an other 28 Days Later or something… not theme park zombies. Not that I’m trying to diminish the accomplishment or anything….

And you’re not alone in your love for Blade 2. I remember turning to my friend 15 minutes into the movie and saying I’d already gotten my $12 worth, and it only got better from there!
Well thank the various Gods for that. I really loved Blade 2! I loved that they took vampires and finally showed me something I’d never seen before! Yes, it was a little ill advised in some places, but then, that’s Del Toro. He’s brilliantly nuts and you’ve just got to go with it.
Wow, I’ve heard the reverse re: Blade 2 – I feel like I’m the only one who hated it and everyone else loved it!
I want to love the Zombieland trailer but kinda don’t. Feels like zombies have been a fun more indie spirited thing and now it’s everywhere. I’ll *see* it of course, it’s a freaking zombie movie and who can resist that?
