My husband randomly found this while searching the web recently. Looks like there’s a Zombie Short Film Festival happening in Toronto on October 30, 2009 at The Revue. Or at least they hope it will. It’s run by a couple of guys named Jim Taylor and Cory Laffin. So to all you aspiring filmmakers out there – and I know there’s some of you who are completely awesome and who should totally enter this – check it out and send a submission. It’s $20 to submit a film and it looks like there will be prizes…. so… whatcha waitin’ fer?

Ah, memories – the first short film I directed at University was a zombie movie inspired by 28 Days Later (that was enforced criteria). What we ended up with was really a ten minute rehash thast wasn’t anywhere near as good.

I’m actually kinda stoked about it. I think it’s going to be pretty cool, especially since there’s so much to do in a short film with zombies. Just the ones they get for zombie day at After Dark are incredible. Remember The Laundromat? LOVED that little short….
