I couldn’t let this one pass by, since I love this little festival so much. The final deadline for submissions to the Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) is Wednesday, July 15, 2009 and they’re recently announced that there will be over $12,000 in prizes. To qualify, submissions must be 1-minute in length, silent, and address one of seven urban themes: Urban Diversity; Urban Encounters; Urban Ideas; Urban Imaginary; Urban Journeys; Urban Natural; and Urban Secrets. Remember that it’s free to submit to TUFF and you retain all the rights to your submission. The top three prizes are:

* 1st Place – 4.5 star trip for two to the Dominican Republic, sponsored by BelAir Travel

* 2nd Place – $2,500 cash award sponsored by Heineken Canada

* 3rd Place – $2,000 cash award sponsored by Heineken Canada

TUFF is the only film festival of its kind in North America, and one of the largest in the world with an average daily viewing audience of over 1 million. It runs concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on the ONESTOP Network of digital screens located located on subway platforms inside the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).

For more information or to submit your film, go to http://www.torontourbanfilmfestival.com.

Seriously. Don’t miss out. Test yourself and make a brilliant 1 minute silent film about something to do with this fantastic city.
