What Did You Watch This Weekend?

It’s been forever since I did one of these… mostly because I haven’t watched anything in quite some time. I know, I’m a baad blogger, but that doesn’t prevent me from wanting to know what you watched!

Tell me this: Harry Potter, worth seeing or not? One of my friends says it was the best of the series – really kicking it up a notch. Another said it was the worst of the series – no one showed any emotion and they made some choices she didn’t understand. She will not be seeing another one. So, I am on the fence. Care to assist?

  • I did get out to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and I’m feeling a little like I did with the Goblet of Fire – I really noticed the differences between the book and there were certainly things that I wanted to see that they took out or changed. But, it’s a mammoth book to adapt. But, I loved it. There was lots to enjoy and it is oddly darker but also lighter than the other films. I’ve heard people say it’s the best one and think it will be nominated for stuff – but I’m not sure what they mean. It’s not my fave by far but I have to see it again. The performances are strong.

But, if you aren’t a fan of the series and haven’t read the books, it might be a little hard to follow. But I found it really a treat.

And if you haven’t seen Moon – see it before it’s gone!

Oooooh. I REALLY didn’t like Goblet of Fire when I saw it the first time – for exactly that reason. They took out so much and changed stuff for what seemed like no reason that I was sad. As time has gone on I can watch it and enjoy it now as a separate entity from the book. I have read them all, but not for a while (I didn’t re-read for the movies coming out) and I’ve heard it’s a little hard to follow, even for some people who have read them all – which is to be expected because the world is just so huge. But I remain on the fence.
