I agree with you re. Iron Man. Its a good fun film that it well made and entertaining without being dumb.

Interesting Anh Khoi! I think that what I learned about myself was that while I look for a lot of things in my movies, when it comes to my favorites – and movie that I’ll watch again and again – I’m looking for light fare that makes me feel good, but is also likely an action flick. So humor and action, that seems to be what makes a “favorite” movie for me. I wouldn’t say I often go against the critics, but I”m often not all that fond of “critically acclaimed” movies… and sometimes I just plain hate them. Vanilla Sky was one of those. I do remember making it all the way through Gangs of New York and hating myself for it.

What are some of your favorites?

Well, it looks like you do like movies that are entertainment-oriented while being objectively good. The only film from your list that I've seen is Batman Begins. In my opinion, it was a hell of a change because the last two instalments preceding Batman Begins were nothing but action films (in the pejorative sense). Other than that, I certainly am going to think about a time for watching The Italian Job. As for my tastes, I'm the kind of person who looks at the script and the cast's performance first although I recall losing patience while watching films like Gangs of New York (I stopped watching halfway through it) or Kagemusha (I almost fell asleep by the time the ending credit rolled), which were both acclaimed by critics. .-= Anh Khoi Do´s last blog post ..TV News: Season 1 of 'Flashpoint' Now On DVD! =-.
