About the Blogger

Trista DeVries is a graduate of the Ryerson University Theatre Technical Production program, specializing in wardrobe and marketing/public relations. Trista has spent several years working 9 to 5 in a business environment however she never lost her love of the arts, specifically film and after a trip to Los Angeles in 2007 re-energized Trista’s passion for all things film, it was clear that an outlet was necessary. The result was the creation of this blog and an opportunity to share years of collected film knowledge and, of course, opinions.

Trista is a film generalist whose open mind, curiosity and interests take her to a variety of films, some even she would not expect. Trista enjoys blockbusters and foreign films alike; however, she can most often be found in screenings of the horror, fantasy and science fiction genres. Born and raised in the Great White North, she is a fierce advocate of films produced by Canadians. Local Toronto filmmakers have even more clout as Trista makes her home here and is eager to support the local film industry. Trista is a passionate blogger who enjoys the community and creative outlet that blogging affords her and is looking forward to blogging professionally in the near future.

When not blogging Trista can be found buried in a stack of comics, watching something from the stack of DVDs she *must* get through, or wandering the great city of Toronto with her loyal and supportive (and patient!) husband.

Trista is also the hired help for two wonderful tabby cats who plot daily to destroy things she loves, ruin her life and kill her with cuteness. To date, they have not been successful.
