I may be the last human on the planet to hear about this, but I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that I’m not, so here I post for your viewing pleasure, Italian Spiderman. It may, in fact, be the best thing ever. Enjoy after the jump. Continue reading
Almost no one drank the Kool-Aid. Last weekend it made $30 Million on Friday and $1.50 on Saturday. For all of last week it made $41 Million. Forty-one million dollars. They spent at least that in advertising. Then this last weekend it made $8 Million. So basically, it bombed. Especially compared to Borat. Is it possible that people are sick of this shtick? I sincerely hope so. Ice Age is at a total of $152 Million over three weeks. I love that Ice Age is kicking Bruno’s ass. My dad took a friend’s kids to see this and he said he came out “changed”. And not in the same way he was after seeing Wayne’s World – the movie that started his mid-life crisis. No, I’m not kidding.
Yeah. I had great hope for this. Like really great hope. In fact, when my husband told me about this in March I was pretty stoked. I thought she had a good look for it with all the pouty lips and doe-eyes and stuff, but now Mr. Favreau, you have let me down because this particular incarnation of the Black Widow looks like crap. Like serious crap. You think they could have got her a wig that wasn’t basically red dreadlocks? Also, why the hell are we doing Iron Man in Russia? Seriously. The cold war is over. It was in a couple of papers.
Please forgive my absence this week. I was overtaken by a small collection of illnesses that took me down for the proverbial count. Now that I’m sitting upright again I have for you some really, genuinely awesome movie posters and artwork by a guy named Tom Whalen. I wish all posters were this awesome. My personal favorite is UHF. I love that movie. Go Weird Al. Whatever happened to that guy?
Go here to scroll through a bunch of his stuff, but visit his own site (linked above) to see it all. Keep up the awesome work Tom!
