T’s Note: I’m quite pleased to say that I’ve seen most of these and, while they do not appear on my own list of 10, I can’t dispute the merit of many of them (especially The Prestige…I LOVE that movie!) Thanks Shovon!

Sienna came across the blog randomly and wanted to send a list, so here it is:
Withnail & I
Fight Club
A Clockwork Orange
Romeo + Juliet
School Of Rock
Death At A Funeral
Annie Hall
Snatch
Perfume
Brokeback Mountain
I have to say this is a pretty intense list (with the exception of School of Rock, but everyone needs a tension breaker), but an admirable one nonetheless. Many thanks to Sienna for finding us and sending this. She strongly recommends Withnail & I, a movie I’ve never heard of. It’s Wiki page is pretty explanatory (warning, this contains what appears to be the FULL plot, so don’t read past the first few paragraphs if you hate spoilers). I’ve posted the trailer below.
It looks pretty good!
Quite frankly, lists like these are why I write this blog. Please keep sending, because I love it when you share. Thanks again Sienna!
1. Ocean’s Eleven (1960)
2. Forrest Gump
3. Rocky IV
4. Shawshank Redemption
5. JFK
6. Delirious*
7. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
8. The Departed
9. The Godfather II
10. Dazed and Confused
I must commend John on a very comprehensive list here. Just when you think that this list is comprised completely of movies that continually run on TBS (Or Peachtree or whatever the heck they call it now, how am I supposed to know? I write a movie blog, remember?), he pulls out a little Delirious. Then backs it up with some South Park, finally making it perfect with some Dazed and Confused. Man. Now that’s a list.
*Please note that I am presently unsure if this movie had a theatrical release. I believe it did, and I can’t seem to find anything that says it didn’t, but imdb.com indicates ‘TV’, which would disqualify it. For now, until I can find out, it stays. Besides. I respect it.
So I’m awake right now and I thought I’d poke around the net for awhile. During my time on the interweb, I found this list of movies that Amazon.com thinks that I should see before I die. It’s not *specificially* a list of 10, but it’s highly entertaining nonetheless. By the way, go to Amazon.com to your movies and while you’re there, try to make sure that I don’t get sued. Much appreciated. So here it is (full link here):
1. American Beauty
2. Seven
3. Pulp Fiction
4. Big Fish
5. Ed Wood
6. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
7. The Planet of the Apes (original version.. .you shouldn’t have to ask, Tim….)
8. The Graduate
9. Fight Club
10. Amadeus
So, I’m pretty sure that this is the safest, most comprehensive list I’ve come across yet. On the one hand, this is a pretty great list. The good news is that there is only one movie on it I haven’t seen and, therefore, I feel pretty vindicated. That being said, it’s also completely accurate. I can’t argue against one single movie on this list and I completely agree that we should all see them…. thus, this is a great list!
This gentleman’s list is comprised of the following:
The Shawshank Redemption
The Hunt For Red October
2001:A Space Odyssey
A Clockwork Orange
Pulp Fiction
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Sense And Sensibility
Rocky
High Plains Drifter
Clerks
Thoughts? Discussion?
I think I’ll be the first to comment on this list. Frankly, I think it’s brilliant. I think this is a list of some of the best film has to offer, while still being highly relatable. It looks great to me and thanks so much for submitting!
