Johnny Five is Apparently STILL Alive

Please. Please someone go to this link and tell me how this is not just ‘Short Circuit‘ all over again. I’ll admit it, Pixar and Disney are getting better. The animation looks fantastic, but I seriously can’t get over the not so subtle similarity to Johnny Five. And ‘After 700 years of doing what he was made for….’ apparently ‘Wall-E’ is going off to do what HE wants to do, which includes not killing bugs and what I can only imagine is the terrorizing, but finally heartwarming of a young, single woman who will inevitably save his life while falling in love with the scientist sent to find him, all the while making ‘golden fluffy pancakes’. Jesus. Is there NOTHING new in Hollywood anymore?

Remember Stephanie, “Life is NOT a malfunction.” Is this a message we really needed to hear again?!?!

Holy Crap Guy, I am *SO* In!

Okay, so *start* by going here and watching this. It’s the preview for Southland Tales, the new movie from Richard Kelly, the writer/director of Donnie Darko, one of the better indie movies ever made. Possibly one of the better movies ever made. Still a contender for my own list. But this movie… man. It looks fantastic! I can honestly tell you I have no idea what it’s about, I mean, not really, but Seann Williams Scott, The Rock (sorry, Dwayne Johnson), the SMG, Mandy Moore and a SCARRED Justin Timberlake. It’s like a dysfunctional dream cast! Not to mention the cinematography this guy comes up with is great. I’m not trying to diminish the work of a good (or even great) DOP (director of photography), but this guy must storyboard until his hands fall off. That shot of the toy soldier on some street in LA? Goosebumps man, goosebumps. I love it three ways from Sunday and I can’t.freakin.wait.
